Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a treatment that works in identifying deep rooted memories within the body’s system (the autonomic, limbic and central nervous system) achieving profound psychological as well as physical healing from trauma

What should i expect with Brainspotting

  • You and the therapist will work together to identify different eye positions including inside or outside window or gazespotting. This serves to access trauma trapped in the subcortical brain, the area of the brain responsible for motion, consciousness, emotions, and learning.

  • Once a brainspot is activated the deep brain accesses deeper parts of an individuals brain that extends beyond a person’s awareness. This engages the regions of the brain that are specifically in neurological regulation.

  • This is the reprocessing aspect of treatment. Since Brainspotting bypasses the brains natural defense mechanisms, this part of treatment is powerful in helping attain relief from trauma symptoms in a relatively short period of time
