New Years 2011

“Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power. Community means strength that joins our own strength to do our work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of healing. A circle of friends. A place where we can be free.”

Words from Starhawk (from Calling the Circle by Christina Baldwin)

Happy New Year! A magical ring to the first day of this year 1-1-11. What magic are you calling in? What are your dreams for this New Year? What stirs that sweet anticipation of stretching-well bringing a feeling of accomplishment and health?

I’ve decided to go with an opportunity presented from an online coach that I like. She encourages one to choose a word-of-the-year that is inspiring to you. One that brings positive images, meaning, and clarity.

I’ve chosen the word “courage” to work with at this time. Courage to take right action with aligning myself to that which is to my heart’s highest and best.
This means having the courage to write regularly for my website, with monthly newsletters and other musings that you might want to check out! The courage to do my daily practice of yoga (with or w/o a class) to keep

my body feeling good and strong. My Spirit Grandmothers tell me when I’m feeling open and grounded in my own body I’m more open to receiving their assistance. The courage to continue gardening (that’s easy) and actually fill my pantry with home-canned goods. That means no longer tricking myself with saying, “I don’t have enough time.” The courage to be a good friend and deepen my relationships with those I love. And the courage to wake-up each morning with sweet anticipation of a new day full of right action to continue to do the work that allows me to be of service to Creator.
I invite you to do this for yourself and to hold your ‘word’ near to you every day to inspire you to do your best.
